Mycetic spore Tutorial is on its way!

Yes. I have finally found it! My camera! This can only mean 1 thing.

Mycetic Spore Tutorial is on its way. The mycetic spore is pretty simple and not that difficult to make. However, several people at The Tyranid Hive have been requesting a Tutorial and now I have got the camera ready and the time... So why not. Expect it within a couple of days.

Also I will make a little review of the Mycetic spore that you might find interesting.

Until then, Happy wargaming! :)

This is not a rant. But Tyranids is not an easy army. But we'll come after that.

So I have been playing 5th edition tyranids for a little more than a year now, and I must say that I could not love my nids more than anything in this world.

To be honest I loved them so much that i decided to stick with the army and still bring it to a competitive level. For those who are new to Tyranids, I will now tell you what I’m talking about... but before I do, you all have to understand... This is not a rant. I'm simply drawing up the lines of the Tyranid issues. Issiues that you must be aware of if want to play a little more than just friendly games.

Anyway... The depressing stuff will end when the blue text is gone.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First thing I'm looking at in our 5th ed Codex... is that we have our synapse rule changed. We do no longer have Eternal warrior when within synapse range.

This starts a problem with certain units like: Lictor, Pyrovores and what the heck, even Tyranid warriors, all getting shot down rather fast by S8+ and considered their cost... This is something that you really do not want.

Anyway... Let's jump further to the next issue... Our FAQ. Yes... When we finally got our FAQ it grabbed moms big kitchen knife and stabbed us in the back.

The Doom got nurfed to pieces. We could no longer stack the reserve bonuses... And psykers could hide themselves in metal boxes to avoid the effect of Tyranid Psychic powers.

Next step would be... Ranged anti-vehicle... We have only got 2 Different models that is "Relyable" Anit-vehicle units... This leads me to the next... They are both stuffed into the Elite section...
Means that if you want to survive against any Mech armies, you would probably use more than just one Elite slot, which then of course makes it difficult to use anything else in your Elite section that is not anti-vehicle. And it doesn’t make it any better that we have 8 different models stuffed inside that section... *Sigh*

Also a lot of our units have some rules I have no problem saying: unacceptable... because they are so retarded that it is unforgivable. For an example: Subterranean assault and pheromone trail.

Because of Mr. FAQ, The Lictor cannot start on the table, which means that Pheromone trail becomes useless... I mean... Pheromone trail is not going to work before turn 3 (If you are lucky).
Subterranean assault have a little of the same issue. Since other units cannot decide if they want to roll for reserve or not, they are in almost every case forced to walk in from the table, even though it was the player’s intention to let them walk in from the Tunnel. *Sigh number 2*

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is just some of the issues Tyranids have and I could tell about a lot more... but I better stop here before I give myself a permanent depression and it was really not the point with this in the first place. The rest, I will mention later or you will experence by playing the game. My original point was to encourage people to play Tyranids anyhow, while at the same time, not denying that it have issues.

Why?

Well because every victory you pull in is well earned! Though the army has some flaws, it's still probably the most fun army out there!

Yes, you will lose a lot to begin with. But that's only good! Something that's a part of the game is to learn and become better. From every mistake you make, you learn. Sooner or later you learn to adapt to every situation and when can do this successfully, you know it's because of hard work and not because of some cheesy tactic or unit. For many armies, Synergy is a bonus. For Tyranids, it is necessary to bring a battle to victory!

With this Blog I will tell about my experience with the army and give all the hints and tips I can to help.

If you have got the will, then Tyranids can still be a very strong army!

FOR THE HIVE!
